While there’s a huge oil slick drifting off the coast of Western Australia, the conservatives are dealing with their own mucky environmental crisis.

Last weekend one newspaper interviewed the man nobody can remember  – ex-Liberal leader Brendan Nelson –   and the discussion focussed on the staggering size of Malcolm Turnbull’s head.

Not to be outdone, Tony Abbott skipped church on Sunday to make it clear that he is very much aware of the size of Malcolm Turnbull’s head and that it was a good thing because Australia:

“…needed people of confidence and ambition.. “ which clearly doesn’t address the issue at hand – the size of Malcolm’s head.

Mr Abbott, Australians are tired of inflated fat heads who forget why they were elected – to lead the country.

They are tired, Mr Abbott, of politicians discussing everything but the issues that face us.

They are tired, Mr Abbott, of hearing sloganeering, party driven, narcissistic justifications for politicians’ existence.

They are tired of politicians manipulating the media to keep themselves in the public eye – without actually doing anything to warrant the attention.

They are tired of political animals behaving like vampiric velociraptors tearing each other to shreds and drinking the political misfortunes of their contemporaries.

Australians are tired that you and those like you never tire of it.

In a word – they don’t care about the size of Malcolm Turnbull’s head, his ego or the colour of his socks.

They want to hear about what he’s planning to do – or not do – for Australians.
